Do micro-toppings scratch?

The surface strength of our concrete micro-topping system is very hard. Walls will generally show no scratches. Countertops, furniture tops and heavy use areas can sometimes show scratches over time which are generally at the sealer level only. Should this happen scratches can normally be lightly sanded and a new coat of sealer easily installed.

Can Techcement cladding be installed on gypsum board?

Yes. They can be glued directly or installed with a hidden clip system if they need to be removable.

What sizes are available in the cladding?

Panels are available in 3 standard sized 3'x4', 4'x4', 4'x8'. All edges are unfinished unless ordered differently.

Where can Techcement Panels be used?

Techcement panels can be used on any wall, ceiling, fireplace, hearth, backsplash, cabinet door and more. Techcement cladding can be used on top of all common building surfaces such as fiber cement board, tile, stone, granite, or drywall to name a few. Economical and easy to install to due the lightweight nature of the material. Can also be installed directly over existing surfaces, eliminating the need to remove.

What are Techcement Products?

Techcement materials are high strength, polymer modified concrete that can be installed as thin as 2-3mm on a number of different substrates.

What type of warranty does Techcement offer?

Techcement provides a 10-year limited manufacturer's warranty.

Techcement products are high-strength and engineered not to crack unless an external force or interaction causes the crack such as impacts, uneven flooring structural settling or movement or other structural defects in construction of the property in which the slabs are being used. Cracks are therefore not covered under any manufacturer's defect warranty.

Techcement warranties do not cover any additional or supplemental repairs or modifications such as, any plumbing, electrical, tile or wall, surface modifications that may be necessary to repair or replace Techcement products should a manufacturer defect cause the need to replace.

Warranty does not cover any products that have not been paid in full.

This warranty does not cover products exposed to abnormal use or conditions or abuse in any way. Abnormal use or conditions including, but is not limited to, damage from mishandling or misuse, damage from excessive heat, scorching or exposure to abnormal weather conditions, physical or chemical abuse, acid etching, staining or damage from improper care and maintenance or damage from chipping, cracking, impact damage or breaking due to customer abuse. This warranty does not cover any damage caused by installation.

Techcement products are intended to have a natural and non-uniform appearance, thus this limited warranty does not cover any variances in color, shade, particle structure or gloss level.

Warranty does not cover products that the customer decides they do not like after installation due to color, edging style or other opinions based on personal preference.

Techcement is not responsible for damage or injury caused in whole or in part by acts of God, job site conditions, architectural and engineering designs, structural settling or movement, acts of vandalism, or accidents.

Can channels be created behind Techcement panels to accommodate electrical cables?

Yes. The hidden clip mounting system creates a 1/4" gap.

Can panels be cut to allow or custom installation or for face mounted outlets?

Yes. Cladding can be cut using common site tools. 

How can Techcement panels be installed?

The panels can be bonded directly to most surfaces using approved structural adhesives. They can also be installed using a hidden clip or can be face-mounted with decorative exposed fasteners.

How can the panels be cleaned?

An organic, non abrasive cleaning agent or soap and clean water will clean the surfaces well. A damp clean is better than a wet clean as if too wet, water spots could be left behind. We provide specific cleaning instructions for each application. Sealants differ based on application. 

Can repairs be made on the micro-topping if damage occurs?

Yes, in most cases repairs can be made. Panels can be replaced or resurfaced. If done, there may be variations in the color until the time in which the newly resurfaced piece completely cures.
